i am getting a used THDP tomorrow and want to have it wrapped in header wrap, but i dont know if i should get the off white color or black so i wanted to see if anyone has used this stuff or not, thanks

If you ever develope an oil leak, that stuff just wicks it up, and forms a nice place for a fire to start. I've used it in the past on headers, and both times, it made the steel crystailize, and breal apart.

If you want to do anything, I'd suggest, just getting it ceramic coated.
 
thanks for the info, but dont really have the money for ceramic coating, trust me that is what i would do, and i thought that with it just on the DP it wouldnt be as likely to get oil on it, plus the DP doesnt get as hot, because i have heard about it crystalizing headers before.

The wrap made a buddy of mines 86 GN ate away the stock headers till they had pin hole leaks in the stock stainless headers.

DO NOT WRAP YOUR THDP, it will fall to pieces in a few years and you will be purchasing another one.

paint it if its mild steel, dont wrap it
