Anyone happen to know if the gas tank straps spacing are different on an 85 vs an 87?

I bought a custom stock location fuel cell (that was made for an 85) and the straps are 3 inches off from where the strap groves are in the tank.

every A and G body built from 78-88 has interchangeable gas tanks, except maybe the El Caminos and wagons.

BUT...are the straps always equally spaced?
