Anyone have a tried and true homemade kit that a local auto parts store has readily available (fittings). I was quoted $118 from Precision for the kit. Is the wastegate actuator bracket kit really needed as well? Thanks
Thanks for the pics. How much did that run ya? I am running the stock heater tube. Do you have part #s for your set-up and can I get that at AutoZone or Napa? Looks like the line kits are front brake style banjo bolts. Can brake stuff be modded to work? Thanks
And used the back water line and banjo fitting from PTEs kit. I used Jegs' Red push lock hose with a black 90* push lock -6 AN fitting on the front water line. No problems with the back line and this has worked well for a while now.
ATP also offers other banjo style fittings for the DBB turbos as well. You need the 14mm thread size for the water passages on the Garrett DBB turbos.
Here's some pics.
As far as the wastegate actuator bracket is concerned, if you have a stock bracket with nothing welded to it for a stock turbo, and you are upgrading to a larger than stock turbo, you will need an new actuator that has the correct backing plate/compressor cover clamp welded to it, so it will bolt up properly.
Here is a quick picture of what I am referring too. This is a standard actuator for an H cover turbo from PTE.
As you can see, this actuator has an H cover backing plate clamp welded to it and the holes properly aligned so that the actuator will bolt up.
