Howzit all,

I'm looking for a OBD-1 scantool to use on the 89 Camaro I'm getting. Just thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has one they aren't using anymore. The types that I've heard work well with the Camaro are the Auto-Xray/Diacomm types.
Anyone here got one they'd like to get rid of? I really wish someone made a Scanmaster for the TPI engine....sigh.:D
Also, does anyone know where I can get one of these things locally? (I've heard Checkers)
Thanks!

I have an account at Checker's, get me the model or part number and i'll price it out. I might need one also if the price is fair.

I just opened Tlink 3.0.2, and an 89 Camero 5.0L TBI is listed there under the vehicles you can select....Get ahold of Ken Mosher and ask for sure....

I have used this version of TLink on an 89 Chevy Van, worked just fine....

Good luck

If you just looking for Trouble codes, jump the A and B terminals and they'll show flash codes from the check engine light. GM show trouble codes in sets of three. The first set will be a code 12 followed by any trouble codes stored. code 12 will flash at the end to tell you that all codes were extracted. For example, if yoou had a code 43 stored, the check engine light would flash once, pause flash twice, pause (it would do this 3 times) then flash 4 times, pause and flash 3 times indicating code 43. (it also does this 3 times, then code 12 would end the flashes. Hope this helps. ;)

Guys,

Thanks for the replys. I guess I wasn't really specific on what I needed the tool for. I don't need it to pull ALDL codes. I'd like to have a small, stand-alone unit for use in the car without a laptop. (sorry Gokada, I thought Diacom was a stand-alone unit.:o )
I'd like something like a Scanmaster that can work without a laptop. (I don't have one, anyway)
Jackson, I may have to take you up on that offer. I'll let you know when I get all the details. Thanks.:D
