Yep, that's what I've been running, a small Yank 3000. It was either the Yank 3000 or the SY3500, and at the time it seemed like everyone was getting good results with the 3000, so that's what I went with. Our fbodies are set up about the same looks like. I can't wait to see all the converter choices that are going to be available for the Buicks.
I've been thinking about going to a 3500 or so on the Camaro, I barely notice this one, except at the track.
I lost a mph but picked up 4/10 ths.
But my tranny has been trying to die for a some time.
Last year I tried 1 pass on motor only, with dr's went 13.15 in 2nd gear smacking the 6600 rev limiter!
Need a Yank TPE transmission and TPE 3400 converter.
I have to agree, I lost mph, but gained about 5/10's et Most people I know have lost alittle in the mph, but gained big in ET. My best motor pass on the camaro was a 12.6@111. The only reason I've thought about the ST3400 is because it's a good nitrous converter.
BTW, I'm hitting the rev limiter sometimes also, even though I keep trying to adjust around it with my Hypertech.
I didn't loose a lot, about 1mph, but I didn't gain any. I dunno why just worked out that way. Yes it is a lockup converter. Sorry I can't explain it, but I don't know how too.
Mine is a lockup also and I lost about1-2 mph but low end tq is awesome, too much for dr's on motor on NOS !
My trans is too far gone to correct with my hypertech
The only way I can hook with DR's and Nitrous is to not get into it until about 10 feet out, on a good preped track. Out of the hole the torque is just to much and spin away. I've got ET Streets for out of the hole.
BTW, I run 11.8 to 11.9 on DR's that way, and a 100 shot.
