I think I'm getting sick of the a-pillar look. Want to "clean" up the interior a bit. Thinking of taking my gauges and putting them over the glovebox area with a nice plate from Mark.
I know it's feasible, but how many people have done this. I can get the agle cups from Autometer so I can see the gauges better over there. I do have my scanmaster to moniter knock right in front of me. I think I'm just trying to justify the move over there, lol

Another question about fuel pressure gauges...has anyone run a braided line into the car for a fuel pressure gauge. I know it's not recommended but....

One last one, is there a good spot to drill a hole on the PS to run wires through there? I have a couple other things I need to run wires for, but the DP is over there and the heater box. I haven't taken much of a look, but is there a prefered spot?

TIA

I had a boost gauge in the two spot console holder, it sucked.

Use and isolator from autometer with the FP gauge and braided line, should work okay.

I had to put mine right in front of me because I am blind :p the oil guage by the console was just a temp guage ... if you watch guages down there wear a helmet and a han's devise to protect yourself when ya hit a tree .. I couldn't have guages on the other side of the car over the glovebox .. how can you glance at them racin down the strip ??

This is a little different than what you asked for, but hopefully the pictures will give you some ideas you can apply to your own car.

I didn't like the A-pillar look either, so I made my own mount for the knock gauge in my TTA. The mount is made from ABS. I bought ABS rod from McMaster-Carr, then turned it on a lathe to what you see here. I cut a hole in a spare trim panel and plastic welded everything together. There is now a switch (for the exhaust cutout) in the blank spot to the right of the guage and I have a panel that clips into place over the switch so you cannot see it. I will also be adding a TC lockup switch and a connection for an EGT gauge to this panel in the future.

Here's where I put mine. Looks good, but you have to be able to look really quick. Also had temp., and oil pressure there.

I didn't want gauges on the pillar or in the tray below the stereo so I bought a dash from Perfromance Instruments.

What you do when you put gauges where you cant "read" them easily, is turn them so normal operating values point the same way...I put them up, so all you need to do is glance over and see that all the needles are pointing the same way. If one isnt, you know theres something going on without having to actually read it.

Can you get me the web-site of the company where you bought yours at ?
Thanks

I often wondered about gauges way over on the passenger side. I don't think I could get used looking over there to see any of them. They would have to be 5" diameter anyway for me read them anyway. I can live with mine on the a-piller. The GNX dash is nice but way out of my price range.

I'm not one for overt modifications but that instrument panel looks FANTASTIC!!!

Thanks. Modifications don't bother me so much, as having a clean appearance does. I really don't like how a-pillar gauges and so forth look. I had my scanmaster and EGT monitor mounted inside my center console. And, my alcohol control panel is hidden below the dash with a custom made mounting bracket and a fabricated panel to keep it hidden.

Do you have any pics of these?

TIA

Not to get off topic, but is that an egt in the toolbox(under radio)?? If so does it have a recall/max and who makes it??
Looks like a sport comp, but I don't remember ever seeing one.
