origins of the song

HALFORD: "Turbo Lover" from Judas Priest's Turbo [Columbia, 1986] is a great driving song. It was written in regard to the twin turbos in Porsches.

I found that in an interview with rob halford online.

umm listen closely to those lyrics guys , I love this song but rob is gay and well maybe he wasn't thinking of a porsche.

i just knew it came out around the time the 86 87 GN's came out so i thought they might have inspired them to write it.

Not even close....also look at the album cover... it's a phallic symbol.

I don't think most people knew Halford was gay at that time. I think it was later he came out of the leather closet!
