I was at the meet today and saw what looked like a hotair car. I never saw under the hood but it looked like a hotair car and didn't have a third brakelight. It had a dial-in time of 13.8 in the window. I saw it on a trailor with a white T-type with nice Baer brakes.

Im assuming you mean the west coast nationals? That car is in fact intercooled...it actually has a complete 87 motor. I was checking out the engine when I noticed the turbo heat shield on the liner of the hood, then went around back to check if it had a 3rd brakelight, which it did not. The car ran pretty good, never got to talk to the guy though, wanted to ask him if he did the swap or bought the car that way.

Where were all the hotair cars????? I didnt see one at the Vegas meet last weekend

I didnt either, simply put, I dont think there were any. I was gonna bring my car, but then the wastegate solenoid took a crap along with the torue converter clutch solenoid.

Mine was parked at home 30 minutes away. Just didn't finish it in time. Next year for sure.

If they were both New Mexico plates, then they were Chris Belt (blue T) and Sam Belt (white T w/ Baer brakes). Chris just had his converted to intercooled.

hey cool 84 i sent you a e on that motor
get it??
Brian---your pm is full

My T-type WOULD'VE been there if I'D have been there...I've went the first 3 years since I sponsor the event (I make the awards) but this year I just couldn't make it...

Ironically, my car was busted the first 3 years of the event...now it's running, and I don't go!

Should be there next year! And my car is still bone-stock, right down to the factory grind cam...it'll be interesting to see if it'll do the low 15's like it's supposed to! <groan>

West coast nats---hot airs

I was there too, didnt see any hot airs,shame----I did see the blue tt,but no other 84/85`s,,left mine at home, just went to see what its all about, next year I`ll bring it for sure. Jeez, sooo many 86/87`s,didnt realize 84/85 so unpopular.Only got about $4K in mine, and I`m sure it`ll knock out mid/low 13`s,,ahhh,next year for sure---------

I really wanted to have my car there and I probably could've had it running in time but it needs a ton of body/paint work and I didn't want to show up at a meet with it looking the way it does. Hopefully we'll have some hotairs next time.

I considered bringing my Riviera, but I was down there all week long before the event on vacation. I didn't want to babysit the car for a week just to race one day. Plus I never seem to run very well in Las Vegas. Hot air with a "Hot Air" doesn't seem to work well for whatever reason. ;)

west coast nats--FWD cars ???

I saw several FWD Regals (88-90) at the nats in Vegas, they were running mid 13`s,,tried to get a look under their hoods,no luck,,can anybody tell me WHAT they had to get mid to low 13`s---WOW,very impressive for a FWD car,,,Jack

i was going to try to make this event also. but as you can see below my engine guy keeps moving my completion date further back. like everyone else mabey next year.
