Car clubs can be fun if you don't try too hard.
I belong to one (not Buick specific) and it's more of a dinner club than anything else. We meet twice a month for dinner and talk about upcoming racing events, who's doing what with their car, tech help, etc. A big bench racing ordeal. Very neat if you're really into race cars. Our club members are most of the fastest and best bracket racers at our local race track and yes, I get a lot of comments from the V8 guys. Especially the Ford guys. What's with the Ford guys anyway? A lot of respect though too. I'm about the only regular attending Buick V6 at Barona and they all pretty much keep their mouths shut after I make a pass. I keep the V8 guys upgrading their hp so I don't catch up to them. God forbid a V6 beat them down the track. One had to buy a Reher Morrison engine because I was coming up on him. :biggrin:

Members earn points for various reasons throughout the year and awards are given annually. Points can be racing related or just awarded for showing up to the dinners and wearing the club shirt. If there are a lot of members with their cars down (very common) then the battles are on to show up at the dinners and wear your club shirts. The trend is to avoid coming in first with points because you earn a hug from the President during the awards dinner. No one really wants that. The first place trophy is very cool though.

You have to understand that the Prez is very hairy and he takes his shirt off for the hug. Yuk!

I've been really slacking on my little site and my car's been down since my great showing on Pinks. I did just get a new turbo this week so my GN will be hitting the streets very soon. Anyone that wants to join the site is welcome to do so. I'll start updating and cleaning up the mess the spammers made.

I'm down for cruises, dinners, just hanging out and shooting the breeze, etc.
