Anyone in the industry? Anything to ask or look for. I am up north so they use asphalt. Concrete would be way too $$.

I want to get my driveway done & add 3 more space to right side.

The quotes are from $2500 to $3500.

The $2500 quote is a 1 1/2 inch lay over
the current 2 car driveway & right side add on for 3 more cars. 3 to 5" base & 3" paving.

the other quote (different company) is for $3500 is ripping up old driveway plus right side add on. Doing all over with new 6" base. The guy never stated how much on the asphalt.

You generaly get what you pay for, make sure you check some of the other jobs your paver has done, I know from experience, the thicker the better, I once had a job done for half the price any body else wanted, guess what I got a half $ss job done.
good luck.

Yes, be sure and get references. AND get the asphalt sealed! I paid a guy to asphalt my driveway, plus seal it. He paved it, but ever sealed it. Now my driveway is coming apart a little at a time.

a

Ive done some asphalt patches for a commercial contract with my buddies const. co . The patches were as big as 4 driveways it was at Northrop/Grumman . I belive Blue stone should be used under the asphalt , thats what the patches had i dont know if the driveway guys use that though . Also depending on the asphalt plant it comes out of its easier to put down and looks smoother . other than that im a Fireman so how the hell do i know :p
