I just got a 2g 16gb unlocked and jailbroken. The wifi selection is Greyed out. And can not turn it on. Looked on line and did a reset network settings. Did not work. The next step is to erase all content and setting. And the third is to restore the iphone with my itunes. I and in Afghanistan and don't want to loose the unlock/jailbreak feature. Will the second and third option lock my phone. Or are there any other things I can try.
Hey, do you have access to itunes? If you call ATT they will unlock for you since it is an out of contract phone. Then you will have to do a restore and sync with apple. Then restore completes, you will get a message saying you are factory unlocked. Now you need to download your version iOS and possibly the latest version of redsnow. Let me know if you need any more help. Do you have dropbox? If not give me your email and I will down load the iOS and JB software and you can download what you beed from there!!
P.S. I will have an iPhone 4 and 3GS factory unlocked for sell towards end of September!!

Well you will have to do a complete back up of your phone through iTunes. Yes it will erase everything. That is why you do the backup. Secondly, you can get everything back on your JB after re-jailbreak it. Just go into cydia and write your cydia apps down and also your repos. Or you can do google/youtube searches on how to save your cydia apps. Let me know if you need anything else. I have been JB my ipad 2, iPod 3, 3GS, i4 ----- every since the first blackrain JB came out.
Thanks, that sounds complicated. I am very new to this iphone stuff. I took a bunch of pics and don't know how to get them off my iphone. I can't email it since the wifi is not working. My itunes has all my music from my ipod that I would like to put on this phone. I dont care about any apps on this phone that someone else downloaded. Can I download my pics or do I have to sync everything?
Hi Clinton, I have an unlock question if you not too busy. I noticed a Gevey sim for sale on craigslist. Like I said before, not too unlock savvy. From what I gather the Gevey sim unlocks the iphone for you. Is this true? The reason I ask is...... I already have a Company Sprint Blackberry. Thought that Sprint did not have a sim card but it does have one. Back to the Gevey on Craigslist. Said it was for a sprint iPhone. Once again, thought that sprint iphones did not have sim slots. Question: would it be possible to make my sprint black berry sim work in an iphone? Thanks in advance for any help.
