Hello all, I am looking to get a downpipe made for my car. I need a 3.5 inch for an external gate. My car has air conditioning and genuine TA Performance headers. I would prefer to be able to have it made without having the car there as the car is not currently running. The pipe must be made in the USA. I want top quality and don't mind paying for it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Call Jack Cotton. 413-789-0531. If you take a look @ his web site CottonsPerformance.com under "shop progress", you will see pics of a 4" DP that Brian made for me. My GN runs AC.

Yeah, I've heard great things about Jack. I have been trying to get him to build me one for about the last 6 months, but he stays so busy that he has been unable to get to it. I am just trying to see if there is anyone else that can do it. I am picking up my car this weekend and was hoping to have all the parts ready to put it back together soon. I have been without the car for almost a year and am dying to get it running. Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming.

There is a place in Marietta GA called Grand Muffler that can make anything. The have a mandrel bending machine, and do tons of custom turbo set ups. We had a car done and they did an amazing job. BTW, it isn't cheap, custom never is.

TA headers... how about a TA dp?? Maybe call them, and ask about it....

I'll give them a call. I didn't see on their website that they made custom downpipes, but it is worth a shot.

AIRC...
a friend got a 3.5 from them...However, I think that it is a stock style gate...

BigwoodRacing can take care of it. Send Jay a PM!

I can, and WILL, build you a real trick down pipe, even using oval tubing, if you want REAL cool. And the best part is, I am only all the way across the country from you! How much more convienient is THAT?;) I would NEED the car to make it fit perfectly, though. Just a train/truck ride away!:p

Although it is tempting, the car is at Bigwood Racing getting a downpipe made. I only hope that their quality is able to compare to that.

I think my young son could match that quality:biggrin:

Marvin:eek:

Cotton's made the 3.5 down pipe with the external gate that is on our car. He modified my cross over pipe, and plumbed the gate into the down pipe. I am very happy with it. It fits greats. I believe the pipe will be worth the wait, I would encourage you to be patient.

I could not be happier with mine.

I know that Cottons does top notch work and wanted them to do the job. I have been waiting for Cottons to get to it for the last few months. Now I have the car back and am ready to get it running after a year of being without it. Bigwood racing seems more than capable of doing the job. Some of the cars that they had there made mine look like junk.

I had a similar experience waiting on Jack to get work done on my car years back and had to have it removed. I think when you have a Nationally recognized name building a downpipe I'm sure you will be more than happy with Bigwoods workmanship. They built a bad azz tube chassis car so building a pipe is something they can do in their sleep.

Can't wait for some pics.
