I have seen it done.. One time out at Jacks (Cottons) he was showing me a car that used to be a t-top. They swapped roofs from a hardtop donor.
It can be done... I wouldnt want to have to pay for it though...

Seen it done locally twice. Once a TTop car to solid and the second TTOP to moon roof solid.

Swapping roofs is the only way i know of, and would be scared of it myself, unless the person is really really good with a welder you may damage the body rigidity even further...

I have a TR friend that has the hatch roof code on his GN and has a solid roof! You can kind of see where it was added at the top of the roof pillars.

Hey guys, I work with conversions like this-among many other things. I can not stress the following enough:

If you do have someone do the conversion, CHECK THEM OUT THOROUGHLY!!! Your life will depend on it!

This will be a major project-and will always be followed by problems. No mater how good the conversion is done, it will never be like a factory roof. Our cars produce so much HP and tourqe that the frames flex and cause stress to the body, ecspecially the roof area. Even with proper bracing, good welding, and planing you still have to transfer to the stock body somewhere-and that will be a weak point under stress.

Personally, I would not recommend the conversion.

Why bother? A guy here runs 9.96's with a T-Top car. Sounds like more trouble than it is worth. Or just trade your car for a hardtop.
