Anyone own a dodge Sprinter?

Specifically the one with the turbo diesel motor. My wife is thinking of getting one and heard they get 30-40mpg which I find hard to believe.

Anyone have one and care to relate your mpg?

i used one for about 1 1/12 years best i ever got was 22mpg and i drove about 300-350 miles a day mostly highway. lots of room and good on the straight aways but does not like to corner has a limiter on 82mph. i had a earlier model and they had many issues with trans i am pretty sure anything 06 and newer has a bigger trans in it. it was a good truck what what i used it for but wind noise and highways winds like to move it side to side so i would say it would not make it a good daily driver. as a work truck i would say a 8 out of 10 as a dd maybe a 3 or 4 out of 10.

I've had the opportunity to run two of them(one converted into an RV type thing, Dodge brand) and our ERT team just bought the Freightliner version(same as Dodge). The first one was loaded up with 8 or so people, driven at pedal mashed to the floor from NJ to Cottons place and back, we averaged 22mpg as well, roughly...The new one is same model 170LWB(I think, extended with high roof), and again with 10 guys and gear its getting around 20mpg.. They are slow, max out around 85mph, and a lil loose in the wind. But cant beat it for mileage and ability to haul ! HTH :smile:

No way they'll get 30-40 mpg. My Diesel Liberty gets 22 C - 28 H and it's 1/2 the size.
