I see that the minimum recommended inj size is 50s, is anyone running 009s with this turbo????

If so, did you notice any problem or lack of fuel?

That's exactly what I'm running on my GN.

If I had it to do over again I'd go with 50's. It seems as though no one bitches about 50's, but lots of folks bitch about 009's - fat bottom, lean top, tip in stumble, poor mileage.

However, if $$$ are an issue, the 009's are dirt cheap - the 50's are maybe $100 more.

I have an RA chip set for the 009's (93, 100, 108). With the 93 the car is way fat on the bottom. If I continued on the RA course, I'd probably want to take some FP out (I run 43 PSI static, as per RA).

I bought a ME for the car and will be plugging it in soon. I'm looking forward to it, as I'm hoping I can make the car run a lot better with it. The car spools like crap, as you'd expect with a fat bottom.

BTW, the car ran 12.01 @ 118+, getting out of it, last year at BG, in the heat, with a C-R-A-P 60 foot (the stock D5 sux with a 52), so 009's are far from wimpy.

:)

I have the ME and I have no problems spooling. Still trying to tune her and get more out of her. It will be easy with the ME to lean out the bottom no problem.

How much boost where you running to get the 118mph?

Over 25, and unexpected. Scared the crap out of me. I backed out of it, albeit for just a moment, but got back into it, because the car seemed fine and was pulling like a freight train.

I believe the car would have gone 120 with a good 60 foot and had I kept it matted.

I'm sure the GN would go 11.4's. However, it ain't gonna get the opportunity, because it's been "retired" to the street. I have my T to play with.

Getting back to the original ???, I think 50's are a better choice. However, 009's put out a lot of fuel, and I recall old posts having 009's running 10's. This isn't to say that's preferred, just that well tuned cars are capable of doing that.

I think we're a little injector happy here, don't you??? I mean, if the chip guys weren't as good as they are and we had to better match our injectors to what our cars would really do, do you think we'd be running these fire hoses???

:)

I have a PTE-52 and 009's, see sig...... That was at sea level with 32psi of boost.

50psi fuel with the line off ;)

Wish I could add to this thread because I too have that combo, but also have a heads/cam car which may even require more fuel. The car is getting restored so I haven't had a good chance to run the "new" combo.
I've read that Jim Testa has these injectors down and can burn killer chips for them, although it also seems the ME is the way to go.
All opinions are welcome

What pump are you guys running with 30lbs of boost? Double Pumper?
