Anyone see a gain from open test pipe?

Most people I've seen say no I would think it would help on even a mildly modded car?
I know it's apples and oranges but running open headers on my bolt on LS1 makes a good diff on motor and a BIG diff on the spray,.....it's what did my tranny in!

It depends on your exhaust. I picked up 3+ mph going to a dump when i had my crappy exhaust. After I put on ultraflow mufflers on 2.5" duals, the difference is minimal.

I have the same exhaust as you. I LOST 1 mph and .1 when I opened the dump.

its funny how any one of our cars reacts to mods, my car with the same hookers usually picks up 1mph, and no gain/loss in ET, i would imagine when i get the car into the 11s, my open dump will be required though...keep in mind these have always been steet setup runs, next time i go to the track i will leave it capped in full race trim to see if there is a difference....
