I've seen it a few times. Pretty exciting for a luxury car company.

It scared the living $h!t out of my 2 year old son. Pretty cool, though. 469 HP for only $80,000. Where do I sign?

That is the worst ad I have ever seen. It is like they are trying to sell a Pontiac or something. Not a high buck luxury car.
Tons of guys in the auto industry are picking on that ad as the worst way to market that car. Great car though MB is cranking out some HP, the CL65 AMG is cranking out 604 HP and 714 lb-ft. of torque!!!

LOL, most people in the auto industry don't have anything close to that car to be in a position to know how to market one. Most American auto makers don't even market their performance cars. I can't remember the last time I saw a dedicated Vette, Viper, or F-body (before the demise) commercial. Kind of like ad guys who try to excuse a terrible commercial by saying "but people are talking about it". 
That car IS a monster. They have to reach out to people who don't know about AMG. That's not your typical MB customer in the US, so they're spreading the word about Vette killers with a back seat.
The only thing is that it comes across at first as one of those credit card commercials about high rate cards. Nice surprise at the end. LOL!

The way I would have made the add.
Take rich yuppie snot, show a huge garage shot with all types
of cars high end & old american Muscle like yenko or Hemi. some bikes too.
Then show him driving off in his Benz with the wife calling cell phone & ask why don't you ever play with your other toys dear..
OR
Have him pull up to the HEMI truck & beat it.. Next light have dude in hemi truck ask if that thing has a hemi in it
