If so, how did it go? Did they pay via paypal? Did they have the car shipped to a port?

Thanks,

Kelly

Is it going to Nigeria?

:ROFLMAO: "Italy". Oh, I'm VERY aware that it's probably a scam, but I've had a few people from Europe interested in my Skylark. It just got me wondering if anyone on here has sold a Buick overseas. There has to be some way to do it while protecting both parties...maybe?

My bud just sold his 67 Caddy to a guy in Saudi A.
They made the deal, did a bank to bank transfer, once the funds were cleared, the delivery was done. In his case, he took the car to the port in Savannah, GA. [Got pd mileage to do so.] The shipper signed for it, Done deal.
The bank to bank was done to a new acct he set up. Once the funds were there, he transferred them, then closed the acct.:smug:

I sold my Chevelle to a guy in Australia. He wired me the money and arranged all of the shipping. He went to Vegas with a bunch of his friends and then to California to see the car off. I mailed him a buyers order and he signed it and sent it back. I can look through my desk and see if I have another one and send it to you if you like. I remember him telling me the car sat in the port for days and they smashed the door either loading or unloading it. Very expensive venture for the guy, if memory serves me right, everyday it sat in the port cost him $200 a day.

EDIT: I found a retail buyers order form in my desk, it lists the VIN and purchase price. Will make things much smoother for him on the other end. And you'll have a signed agreement.

I transport cars to the port in jersey that are bought by people overseas almost weekly, dont be so quick to dismiss it as a scam, most pay via bank wire and usually the ocean freight company arranges everything, i know a really good one if you happen to need it.... Guys from sweden and norway are buying up all the muscle cars and classics the port looks like a car show i swear...message me if i can be of any assistance......

Thanks for the response, guys! Good to hear other parts of the world are appreciating these cars.

Unfortunately the guy said it would probably be too expensive once taxes and customs were figured into the delivery cost. But that's good to know that you can do that, I will remember that, thanks!
