Anyone wtih a Buick and 2-Step?

Ok here is my question to anyone like Eric Marshall, etc. that is using a 2 step that they set up. When you are controlling the 2 step with a stock C3I ignition can you demand no coil output (Control signal) from the ECM while giving the bypass 5v without the module going into limp mode? Or are you just running a fuel cut limiter? I have my megasquirt3 wiring figured out, now i just need to work on getting all the tables set up! this is the fun part.
