LOL.... Yep.

I had MSN once, and it took me an hour to reach them to cancel. Not too bad.

Almost easier to just report the CC you have their billing to lost:biggrin:

They'll sure contact you in a hurry once the payments stop:tongue:

Shane call your CC company and just tell them to decline any further
billings from AOL.

You mean you're still paying for AOL? I changed mine over to the free version last year. Even if you never use it, I wouldn't cancel...

I did, I called AMEX, the biggest baddest of them all....

They told me that AOL fought so hard against cacellations it was "best" to call them direct...

I have been paying the $29 a month for over 9yrs now... It hasn't even been accessed it 4 yrs... They still give me the run around...

I am faxing them a letter to cancel and if no good response then I am just going to give it to my attorney. I rather pay him them AOL;)

Shane,

I had a hard time with them as well, it was my dad's account and he had passed away. When I finally got to talk to someone and told them that it was taken care of then. It took me two months to cancel my daugther's account.

Call amex and tell then to issue you a new card as you think your old one was stolen,THey will issue you one with a new number.
I dont think AOL can make charges to a card they dont have numbers for

I didn't know aol still existed. My brother just went through this not too long ago. He was always on the road for work, so he kept his aol account, even though we had broadband at home. He switched credit cards, and AOL tracked him down like a hound, telling him that he owed 5-6 months worth of fees. He was screaming at them telling them that he had canceled 5-6 months ago, but they had no record of it. They're doing every thing they can to keep their customers, but most have finally realized that there is much more to the internet than the little "e-world" that AOL created. At first AOL really didn't want you to get out on the internet. They wanted you to stay in their little section. It was a good idea until the population became internet savy. They should have been thinking ahead. Kinda like Polaroid. They were instant photography, they should have been the 1st company to jump into digital cameras, but their leadership didn't adapt.

Just switch to non payment version and never use it....

Problem is I don't even know the "main user name" Without that I can't go in and manually change it. Naturally she wouldn't give it to me on the phone:rolleyes:

wow.. i remember that same stuff from 5 years ago...

PS.. try to delete an AIM account.... you cant...
