I'm looking at getting a car that has one of these units in it.

Does anyone have any experience with them? How hard are they to tune with? How well do they work?

If it's a buick beware as the way it tricks the air meter a side factor is it advances the timing it basicly lets the meter read up to 1000+ cfm however it fools it into reading more air then you are getting to adjust injector duty.
Best bet ditch it get good set of larger injectors and a chip burned for them.
post up mods to car and we can help select the right size.

Yeah kenny. The insurance company totaled Tracy's car so we are getting another.

She wanted something with 4 doors so it looks like we will be getting a GalantVR4.

It's got a load of stuff on it.

gn4u2c: Is it easy to tune with one those? I tweak my own chips for my GN. Will I be able to work it?

Yes they are very easy to use.
I had one on my RX-7 and on the 97 gst they are safe for about a 10% fuel correction. they show well over 20% correction ability but you will be past the stock injectors ability. If you need less that 10% to get the a/f correct good to go otherwise get some 550s or 680's from a stock fc3 (86-92) rx7 in the salvage yard.

The car that I am buying has the following power adders on it:

680cc Inj
Apexi AFC
AMS t3/t4 50 trim turbo
AMS front mount with Evo III core
HKS 264 cams
2g mas
Dejon tools intake
ported 2g exhaust manifold
AMS manual boost controller
3" exhaust with Dynomax muffler and highflow cat
Walbro 255lph pump

Does that help any?? :D

make sure the center diff is full and not leaking if it's awd.

Better order a act 2600 or clutchmasters 2500 kit for it stocker is not going to hold that power back. You should run mid 12's like a breeze smooth and easy.
get some suspension and go tear the back roads up they handel excellent with just a good set of springs and struts.

gn4u2c:

It has the following trans and suspension goodies:

ACT 2600 Clutch
AMS Built Tranny
2G shifter with metal bushings
JUN flywheel
Taboo 4140 clutch release fork
Extended clutch slave cylinder rod
KYB GR-2's
H&R springs

This thing is ready to boogie.

I'll get some pics up of it soon.

But once again, I need some schooling on how to use the AFC!
