Are converters in our cars rated at zero boost?

Not any i have ever used, Most i believe are rated once a good amount 15-20 # of boost is applied against them,If you had a 3000 stall with no boost it would probably be about 5500 wiht boost.
My convertor only flashes around 1800, but on the transbrake it makes about 4500
That is my expierience at least

hmm i always thought it was under 0 boost for our cars, ive seen 2800 so far with mine on 0 psi on street tires before the tires broke and its a 3200.
 
This is a debated issue, but the commonly quoted stall speeds tend to be the 5 psi rating from what I've seen.

Thanks, guess it depends greatly on how much grunt the engine makes with no boost too.
 
True, but the stall speed is proportional to the square root of torque.

So, it takes a lot of engine mods to move the off-boost stall speed much.

I'm not dure what you could to to make a major difference in torque at 3000 RPM.

At 5 psi, most of the turbo's are making similar efficiencies as well. It's pretty consistent.
