I had US Gear in the car for years and ran several 1.3- 60 ft and never had a problem . I went to a Motive and have already broken the ring gear . I know it is time for a 9 inch but I can't spare the time or the money right now .

If you order a Strange high performance gear, it is actually made by Motive gear for them. I just put a set in. They were 189 a set from summit. If I remember correctly, they make two versions, one high performance and one regular series - get the more expensive one, I believe the good ones are made in Italy and not China, G885342

Set up on the gears is just as important as the gear. On those we used to set the pinion a little deep and use a solid spacer instead of the crush sleeve. Find a gear shop that does high performance or ask around your local track for the right guy to set them up.

The teeth were snapped off the ring gear at the base and the pinion was still tight . The new set has a darker color and a different number on them . Both came in a high performance gear set box from Strange . I think the real killer was just to much power for the 10 bolt . Has anyone ever made many 1.2* 60ft launches with one and had it stay together ?

Brad,
I ran Motive's 3.55 in my 9" for at least two seasons and they are still in there. Street gear to not a pro. A 9" gear is a LOT stronger than the 8.5" GM gear.

There is a G-body Moser 12bolt on YB.com right now complete for $2k. Looked like a good deal might want to check it out, say it earlier today.
