Are Walbro pumps now trouble free?

A lot of us run north of 60. We usually use base pressures of 42-45. Most of us run over 20 psi of boost. So looks like this mod would help. Could you post a pic of what is needed to do for this mod?

KevinB, TI Automotive does not endorse modifying the OPR function, it is a safety feature, so I have to leave this one alone. Although, you don't need to look very hard to find out how to do it :smile:

Hey Matt from walbro, I got a question. My import buddies swear pushing in the pressure relief on the walbro pumps increase flow. No one talks about that here on the Buick board. Is this a bad practice?

Do a search, this has been discussed and performed starting at least 15-16 years ago.

it is a known mod, this is what makes an XP pump "xp" It works lots of people do it

Google is your friend. Never done this myself but guess this is what is involved. My new pump from Racetronix is still running a year later but is about 5-6 lbs down from where it should be under boost. Wideband says everything is OK so haven't done anything to mine. At 20 lbs of boost I get 57 lbs of fuel pressure, should be 63 lbs.
