ok i just purchased a art carr converter from what i thought was art carr.Turns out there are 2.Know this is for a gmc syclone and the sy guys dont use to mutch art carr stuff but i know u buick guys do.So has anyone heard about these 2 diff art carrs ones in texas other in cali.Mine came from texas any feedback good or bad thanks .

I live in Texas but chose to get my 9" built in CA. CA Art Carr customer service sucks big time, but the 19930 billet cover convertor is doing okay at the moment. I think the jury is still out on the Texas operation, as I had a 16930 from Texas before this convertor and it was fine. Pays your money and you takes your chances I guess.

I ran a Art Carr Tx converter and it performed excellent. No reservations.

From what I understand, the Art Carr in CA is the real Art Carr. He sold his company in Texas a while back, and was not impressed with their product, so came up with the company in CA, to sort of clear his name I guess. Ironically, he cannot put his name on the business, since he sold his name, so to speak, so his actual business is California Performance Transmissions, as compared to his old Art Carr Performance Products.

The CA operration is Art Carr. The Tx shop is left over from when Art went public on the stock market if memory serves me.I have run Art Carr trannys for years now.I have no complaints.I personnally would use the Ca shop and deal with Art himself. They are hard to get ahold of at times, but it's usually because they are swampped.

I,ve used several convertors from both the CA firm and the TX firm, the customer service in CA sucks:( If I were buying another today it would come from TX.
