Looking for parts I passes alot of 86+ fwd 3.8 cars. Looking at the various elbows and other components between the throttle bodies and airboxes got me thinking about puting together a bigmouth type setup using a few various elbows, some 3" alumanized exhaust, and the K&N airfilter I already have.

Although not as nice as some of the custom kits available, doesn't seem like it would be hard. Might even almost look like it's supposed to be that way

Just wondered if anyone had a setup like this?

I have no idea......they were mostly 4 door park avenues, wagons, etc........ don't remember seeing anything with black interior.

Cold air kit

I planing on trying to make my own cold air intake kit when I get her up and running again............. keep running into little parts that I need and end up waiting on them......dammit!!

Anyways I was thinking 3in alumized or SS piping and just get it bent and a local shop the way I want it........and then hook my current 9in K&N up to it.........still throwing ideas around in my head......but it sure sounds better then $200 and some odd dollars for one...........

You got junkyards around you that you can just walk on thru.......damn I wish we had that here were I live........:(

If you find some pieces that fit well let me know I would be interested that way I can go and ask the junkyard for that specific piece since they wont let me walk around:D

good luck with it, Nick

The sewer plumbing section of a good hardware store should have eveything you need for a cold air kit and run you under $50.

cold air setup

I basically made mine from stainless pipe and rubber elbows.

It is pretty much at the end of the set of pages.

UPDATE ON MY CAR

It is now undergoing a paint job, soon to be followed by all the interior work and then the fun part driving once again.

Yeah :) :) :) :)

Thanks for looking
