Ashley Force got her first win in Funny Car today, beating daddy John in the final at Atlanta.

Is this the year for hot diminutive brunettes in motorsports or what?

How about that girl, "SHE'S ON FIRE" !!!
Too bad John smoked em.

Somebody please adjust my hat so it doesn't fall in my face anymore.

someone post the link to the race and interview, $1 says John cries more than Ashley!

I was there, bad thing was John was going for his 1000 win would have been cool to see history but then agian Ashley is the first woman to win a funny car event.

Too Bad...

Its too bad she won her first race against her Dad. Im sure people will question the validity just because her dad was the opponent. I know one thing for sure if I were racing my daughter in that situation, theres no way I would beat her.

You don't think John handed her that win on a silver platter? He made it down the track his other 3 runs without smoking the hides and the track conditions were just as good if not better in the final. Her other 2 times she made it to the final she cut a slow light.Being the first woman to win in funny car will give their sponsors/team more exposure than if John won.

I agree, I watched all the rounds, he could have made it look a lot better. :p

Especially for the "experienced" old guy.

She definately had the car to beat him on full runs by both cars.

Congratulations to the whole family however, one of them had to win.

Did John run the left or right lane on his other passes? I missed those. I know she had lane choice and put John in the left lane which had given people trouble all day. I'd say Coil knew what it would take to win and he put that tune-up in the car but the track didn't hold it.

I don't know...in the interview after John got into the finals he said She is going to have to earn this one...but then I heard him say something after that...think he was getting ready for the run and he said something like wouldn't it be weird if I blew away the tires right out of the gate...can't remember his exact words...didn't think anything of it until he did exactly that...I doubt he gave it to her...but who knows...

You can argue this one all you want. He handed that one to her. They have the most advanced Funny car programs in the world. They can make those cars do what ever they want. It was such an act. This crap was worse than WWF wrestling. All you hear during the broadcast is Ashley this John that.. Eric what ever..

Lots of other racers busting their ass out there and they dont get the exposure even with a single round win. John doesnt qualify they talk about it all night.

Did anyone notice her attitude during the NHRA today show?

The only thing that had me wondering was the fact they were talking about the car spinning before the race. ESPN even listened in on the conversation between John and the crew talking about track conditions. I turned it on just at that moment though so I didn't get to see it all.

John knew her car had a good tune in it and I couldn't live with myself knowing I gave my Daughter a win. Now if he intended to throw down a big number and rolled the dice, he lost. But to intentionally throw the race is B.S.

That is no way to win her 1st and John knows that.

I do agree that it would have been better if she raced somebody else, I'm sure the emotions would have been different from John if that was the case.

Its too bad she won her first race against her Dad. Im sure people will question the validity just because her dad was the opponent. I know one thing for sure if I were racing my daughter in that situation, theres no way I would beat her.

+1 But Ashley is cute enough to let it slip by!!!!
