SignUp Now!Dont listen to phoneguy...his car dont run.......LOL.Has engine been run at 190° or better...like phoneguy said...temp, rpm and some boost (and some miles) will help break in.....i use old dino oil during break in....
Oil pressure no too high?
. Does your felpro intake gasket have the factory valley pan to shield the pcv from oil? If you pull the plenum off is there oil in the intake? How is the compressor side of the turbo dry or signs of oil?Let me ask this. If its not the turbo, and its not the intake seals, and a oil catch can was installed to catch blow by from the piston rings then what else could be causing this blue smoke issue?
At idle is when I get the steady, constant stream of blue smoke. I will take pics of the plugs later this evening. When does it smoke the most? At idle?
Start it up let it smoke up real good then pull the plugs. Snap a couple pics of them and post back.

Yes, I inspected and reinstalled the valley pan when I installed the valve seals. I haven't pulled the plenum to inspect. I will try to do that today. To be honest, I didn't pull the compressor side of the turbo. I will check today tho... Does your felpro intake gasket have the factory valley pan to shield the pcv from oil? Hey Amelio, That's interesting you say that about the seals because reading other post and going by my "gut feeling" (if that count for anything) I just feel its those felpro seals. I have seen other makes/model cars with valve seal issues and my national smoke the same way.I know you said it was just rebuilt but that does not mean a ring or two was damaged during installation or possibly clocked wrong....or a crappy set of rings.
I did not see you post anything about doing a compression test....again just because it is a fresh build do not rule out some basic items like that. Also I have seen stock replacement valve stem seals look to be in good shape and on correctly but still smoke. I use a nylon comp valve stem seal with the little metal tension rings that work great.....however if you saw the car smokes real bad I would first be pointing at other large items.....
To follow up behind Turboburick.........does it smoke mostly at idles or acceleration or both?
Sorry BJ, I cant do that. A smoking car just do something to me mentally! LOLDrive it and dont worry about it
Is it possible I may have two issues here! At idle I get a constant blue smoke, the blue clears a little when I rev the engine and then puffs white smoke when I let off the pedal....Moisture dripping from exhaust.
Compression Test results: cylinder#1- 145You need to drop everything, stop fishing and do some actual diagnostics. Speculation just makes you spend money replacing parts that don't need replacing.
If you have access to these tools, do the following..... Compression test and a leak down test. If you don't have the tool, won't get them, or just don't feel like running diagnostics....
Since you have a steady stream of oil smoke at idle. Try this... while the cars as warm as you can stand it, put a brand new set of NGK plugs in. Let it idle ONLY (or only do things where it smokes profusely). After 30 minutes or so, kill it and pull the plugs. Look for consistency across the plugs carbon-wise or one oddball that's glossy black.
also, fire your trusted mechanic and the machine shop.
