Is anyone using one of these? I put one on when i had to replace the CHRA on my stock turbo 22 years ago.
The compressor had about 1/4" of end play with 35k on the car. I haven't touched it since and after 160k on the replacement the end play is well within tolerance measured with with a dial indicator.

The only problem I'm having is the seals are gone and I'm burning oil so I'm going to upgrade to a 6262 dbb. I want to leave the sneeze valve in place but I'm looking for opinions from those with more experience in these matters.

Are you referring to a BOV (blow off valve)? They are usually not found on buicks that I have seen. I had one on mine until I put the alkycontrol kit on. I believe a BOV extends the life of the turbo but the risk of having compressed air with methanol venting under the hood. One ignition source and it becomes a flame thrower! I may just be paranoid but I removed it anyway. If your not running an alky kit I would leave it. Just my .02 Jon

Thanks Jon,
Well they referred to it as a sneeze valve. The idea is when you are under boost and lift off the throttle the vacuum (a vacuum line is attached) opens the valve and vents the pressurized air rather than having it slam back against the compressor. It sounds like the car sneezes when this happens thus the name.

Im not running alky.

I have a new one if anyone is interested
