Hello,

I want to install a JL Audio sub (enclosed) and amp in my 87 GN.

My question is If all i got was the subs and amp, and kept the stock 1987

"concert sound" speakers would it sound really bad??

Basically, what else should I get to get a bumping sound out of a 20 year old car.

First I moved this to the correct forum!

Are you replacing the head unit?

There is quite a bit to consider other than just the amp and sub. I am an audiophile so NO those speakers wouldn't cut mustard with me:tongue:

I am sorry

I forgot that, yes I will also be getting a HU.

Basically I am changing everything except the speakers, because I am running out of money.

Well you are stepping up for sure with JL audio. That is best stuff made IMO!

Anyway your bass should severly over power your highs once installed. Soon as you can I would up grade your highs and mid bass for proper balancing.

So to answer your question IMO the factory stuff will pale in comparison to your new bass addition!
