any one else compare their auto meter tach to the FAST system. my auto meter tach reads much higher than the FAST logger when checking converter/rpm. do i have a bad tach (about 10 years old)?
auto meter, 10 psi = 4500rpm.
FAST, 10psi = 3700rpm.

I just hooked up an autometer tach and no issues between the FAST system's readings and that of the tach. Could your settings be wrong on the tach, I know I had to calibarate via 3 dip switches in a rear access panel on the tach.

same here !!

Your tach is hooked up the the green wire behind the alternator? It's been on the TR for 10 years?

It was well documented on the old GNTTYPE list that aftermarket tachs ran higher than actual RPM. Some people had the manufacturer make an adjustment. I believe others solved the problem with a resistor (?).

However, if your tach was on the TR and accurate for 10 years, I'd say age may be an issue.

i know its hooked up correctly. it reads fairly close to the FAST until im building boost then it just jumps way ahead. im going to go with the age thing. just caused a lot of problems for me because i thought i had issues with the converter or trans brake install. thanks.
