Autogage Tach - Install on side of dash

how is everyone installing the autogage tach to the side of their dash. Just screw it in?

Scott at GNS performance sells a bracket that gets screwed in behind the upper dashboard pad,then the tach gets bolted to this bracket.

I've seen that. What if I don't want the bracket?

Then you would have to screw into something.I have that bracket with the 3 3/4 autogauge tach, and it looks like the tach is hanging in the air.For 23 bucks it's a great piece.
