Install is not too tough,
black wire to a good ground
red wire to a 12v source
purple wire to the O2 sensor on the engine side of the harness, that way when you replace your o2 sensor you don't have to rewire it. Be sure to unhook the battery before installing.
You should solder all connections and insulate them with shrink wrap. You can get all the stuff needed at a parts store in the electrical section. If you can change a battery you can install this.
Install instructions can be downloaded from autometer I am sure.
