On average, what kind of max boost and timing are those using alky able to achieve without any KR on 93 pump gas?
I'm guessing the max will be with straight methanol and no water mixed in.
With 104 octane the most I can get is around 21# and 25 degrees of timing before KR sets in. Don't want to continually change O2s and would like to run a WB O2, but don't want to with 116 leaded fuel.

Through the traps, average is 25 PSI at 20 degrees timing.

On my stock long block I ran 32 PSI a few times at 21 degree's. A buddy Richie has run 30 PSI at 24 degrees.

Probably more than you'd like to run.

But watching what's going on is the key.

I am going to try and run a 26 degree timing race chip this weekend starting at 20 psi and I am gonna work my way up. So far I've seen 27 psi of boost on 93 pump gas and no knock but I was running out of fuel on the very top end (o2s were at 695 at 115mph)...soooo hopefully with this race chip since it has more fuel, I can make some more power? Anyone else with a similar combination running this much timing on alky and what boost are ya running with no knock???

No reason to have your O2's drop like that unless you dont have enough alky, or your fuel system is going south.

I'd worry more about your falling O2's than timing. Careful you dont hurt the motor.

The chip commands more fuel, so you'll need to drop the alcohol or the motor will be pig rich. And thats the wrong thing to do when running high boost.

High timing, reduced alky, high boost equals a big mess. You want more alcohol and less fuel. Turnup the alcohol..bring the o2's up.. add nozzles.. add voltage.. do whatever it takes.

Get a chip made for your car, low timing.. have it running correctly(750's-760's). Then add timing.

690's for O2's.. be glad you work in a turbo shop.

Thanks for the info Julio. Once I get my new turbo issues worked out, your alky sytstem is in the near future, no reason to have a turbo that produces 20+ PSI without being able to use it at any time :)

so when you turn up the alcohol...it should raise the o2's??? that's what i have been wondering all along...the pump speed was only on 5 when i did that one run...that was almost 28 psi of boost...we'll keep tuning her this weekend and see what happens...

Yes.. if everything is working as should.

Maybe pump speed 5 doesnt add very much????

Again..dont know how that works..

I can raise my O2's from 700 to 780's using alcohol.
