I grew up being taught who Ayrton Senna was, but I stumbled upon this Top Gear clip about him, learned a couple things, and it literally brought a tear to my eye; especially the last statement by Jeremy Clarkson at the end. Even if you are not into Formula 1, this video is still great. This was in the era of 1200hp turbo monsters and no paddle shifters. Senna was the best among the best on and off the track. If you have an extra 16 minutes, I suggest you watch this clip as it summarizes what it is to be a true champion.

i watched that a while back.. what struck me was the similarities between him and Dale Sr.. it should also be noted that Dale Sr won the NASCAR race the weekend that Senna died, and he started out his victory lane interview with a statement giving his condolences to everyone that knew Ayrton and saying what a big loss it was to the racing world.

Very true. I'm not into NASCAR but I do enjoy Dale Sr. and have often seen the similarities between the two. You definitely hit the nail on the head, and I didn't know that at all about his winning that weekend. I'm sure he was a Senna fan too and likewise.

look it up.. the post race interview is on youtube somewhere.

here, i found it..
