Well after we lost in the 1st round of Conley's quick 8 , tire shake thanks to my (lack of) clutch tuning, I decided to pack it up and return a day early. I made a pass each day , 1st pass on Tuesday was a 7.71 at 180.5, we went a 7.73 at 179 on Wednesday, all the time fighting tire shake due to the clutch and chassis tuning. Shaking tires even on the 4-5 shift, bad enough to wrinkle both quarters and blow the passenger door off at 180mph!. On Thursday we changed some settings on the chassis and did a little more clutch tuning. We were rewarded with a 7.59 at 181.4 with 89degf air temp and 100% humidity on a very conservative tune. There has never been a pass faster or quicker at the GS Nationals from anything! The race program gets more and more organized every year, we had a great time and as soon as I get another door, we will be ready to rock!

went 9.30 at 148 on a soft launch and 20 psi,we launched at 15psi on the next pass, broken driveshaft, threw in the towel!

Bill congrats on your 7.5 run.I'm waiting on a new clutch for the car.I will give you a shout when I'm ready to rock.Scott

Bill, congrats on the 7.59 pass! I will not ask the question you expect me to ask....

Alright, proabably a stupid question, but what kind of trans are you running? I would assume a TH400, but 4-5 shift?

It is a Liberty 5 speed.

Brick........I hope the he11 somebody got it on video! We have the first one on tape where the door flew off when the chute opened, but that was ONLY a 7.71:D

Bill,

Congratulations on the new best.
Once you get the chassis and clutch working for you
I think we are talking low 7s maybe the magic 6 on kill!

Thanks John, I am confident in the MAGIC number, it is just gonna take some time, with our MPH and the current state tune the car is in, I wouldnt write off 7.30's with the clutch and chassis working!. We are always about .2 slower at Beech Bend than Cecil Co. the engine is on a tune up that would make most laugh, the combo makes serious power, my only concern is if the body is aerodynamically sound!!! What is the fastest MPH a turbo regal has run? I know you know!!!

-Gary Lee went 181 and change
-Duttweiler went 180ish
-Conley went 178+
-Sean Lilly 178+
-Bob Borelli 180
-Kent Rudbeck ???
Pete Barton 176
John Gallina 179 with 207ci
Alvin Isacowitz 18X...
Buddy Ingersoll was in the 190s I think???

181.5 is our best but it is undocumented of course as I have never gotten to get the video put up. We wnet 181.4 in BG which should turn up somewhere sooner or later!(video).

Well it sounds to my like if you are not the fastest now it is just a matter of time.

How did the other big dogs run?
-Wilkerson
-Rudbeck

205 MPH

As far as top speed, I thought Joe Pettit pushed his regal to 205 MPH:eek: in the Silver State Classic?

OH Yea

Thanks for the great show!!!! My wife and I went to BG and had a great time. We enjoyed the races and the deals I got for some parts$$$ great set of T-Tops with trim for $15:D Next year I hope to drive the GN:)

If Bill had more space than 1320' to hit 205 MPH, I'm sure he could do it.

How long did it take Joe Pettit to get to 205 MPH in seconds??

Kent ran a 7.60@163mph his personal best.
Wilkerson ran 8.1 or 8.2 and has it dialed in but got on and off it!
Dan White's son ran a low 8 on a 10.5'' tire pulling the shoot real early!

I have 6 hours of taping and 90% of the passes from super 16 turbo/tso/tss/tsm.

When i get a chance i will look on video and confirm the exact times.
