The day was hot!
The car was run with an open dump, 275/60/15 radials, and ~1/2 tank of fuel. The transmission has a very tight 2000 stall converter and is non-L/U. The car has 3.73 gears & brand new valve springs.
Best on 94 octane street gas: 2psi launch; 18psi boost; 30psi tires; 5300+rpm shifts & shifted into OD. Jay Carter 94 Street Chip.
R/T ... 1.719 (Hey, I am racing a Turbo Buick here)
60' ... 2.299 (Crappy tires, low launch boost, and little to no stall)
330 ... 6.056
1/8 ... 9.140
MPH ... 79.51
1000 ... 11.809
1/4 ... 14.052
MPH ... 100.07
Best on 114/110 race gas: 2psi launch; 20-21psi boost; 26.5psi tires; 5300+rpm shifts. And I placed a Jay Carter 110 Race Chip in the ECM.
R/T ... 1.904 (Hey, I am still racing a Turbo Buick here)
60' ... 2.287
330 ... 5.988
1/8 ... 8.983
MPH ... 82.54 (I accidently slipped the car back into second, days best was 83.78mph)
1000 ... 11.549
1/4 ... 13.712
MPH ... 103.81
Basically I am still having a tough time driving this car... shifting specifically, I made it onto N on one pass. It refuses to 60' because of the lack of weight transfer from the stiff front suspension. The MPH is indicative of low 13s/high 12s in most other Buicks. Since my first time out with the car it has picked up 4 tenths on street gas, and 7 total tenths on that race gas mix. MPH has jumped up about 3 on street gas, and 7 on race gas over previous bests.
I found that in absence of a spray wand setup, a water bottle with a couple of holes punched in the top is a good means of wetting down the intercooler... it is really easy if you are still missing the stock I/C fan, like me.
It was nice to see some old friends... and a lot of them were asking where my Monte Carlo was, I guess that it has made a name for itself
Any guesses on what kind of power this thing may be making?
