sorry guys,
but I can't figure out how to backprobe the TPS blue wire with a digital volt meter. Can someone walk me through the procedure? And yes, I have reset/set the IAC valve, but my Idle speed when following this procedure is way to high. thanks, Ben ---------------------------------------------- '86 TType: normal tune-up stuff, Reds XP pump and wires 160 stat ...soon to use some Birthday $$ for 009's and chip.;)

Easiest way to do it is with a scan tool. Know anyone you can borrow a scanmaster or turbolink/directscan from?

Stick the positive lead (red) of your meter in there and put the other lead on the neg of the battery. you might also try atttaching a paper clip or something to your meter lead to help you get it in there better..

Safety pin through the insulation into the copper with an alligator clip lead on the meter.

Other lead clipped to the battery ground.

When you remove the pin the insulation will close around the hole. I use a layer of black tape over it just in case, and you can find the same spot again for the next time.

You can also buy an inline plug in connector that breaks out the leads to measure it too. Forgot where I got mine....
