Well, I finally got a stock turbo installed on my car - I have never driven a GN w/ a stocker - and I jsut want to say, wow! Buick sure got the right turbo for the street. The turbo is always there waiting on me - no lag like on bigger turbos - be it at 10 mph or 70. My only complaint is that it isnt as loud as some bigger turbos, but I'll live :D As far as a daily driver, I think the stock turbo is the best choice for fun.
Also, on a side note, I am going to rebuild my trans right this time - its slipping after 23k and very little boosting(and less than 15# when it did occur). I used jsut a local non-speed shop mechanic. I installed a shift kit and upgraded the servo along with him putting in a beefier 2nd gear band into a stock rebuild. I thought that would be enough for a basically stock GN...I guess I need to look around and see who has the most bang for the buck in transmissions...

They do spool fast, even faster than stock with the right parts. But turbine wheel technology has came a long way since '87, lots of turbos will spool faster and even bigger turbos that will spool faster with the right combination. My stock turbo'd TTA spools slower than my GT61 on the GN :D

Shoulda felt my TA-49 with a 3200 stall. ;)

I've got a 3k stall, so I bet I get the feeling :D
Also, I was running an older turbo before this, the TA51...I havent seen anyone run one of those on the boards in 2 years
