I have a 86 t type and with all the laws in CA I was thinking it would be best to take it back to stock. I do not have the smog parts on the car currently. I now have a take to something called a star smog station. Advice please?
 
Find a very hungry "Star" station.
We're all going back to stock.
I remained stock all along as I knew
it was just a matter of time.
 
whats a "smog station"?
inspection?
here in "free America" we don't do that silly tree hugger crap!
 
I've heard rumors that some peeps don't do it out here either.
 
If I had the $$ & wasn't such an old fart I would move out of PRK in less than a heartbeat.
 
most star stations charge around 300 for it under the table, most of them dont even require for you to present the car.

We have the NSA monitoring our phone calls & do you thing for a moment that the smog gestapo doesn't troll these websites trying to find out who is doing anything illegal in regards to their smog program. It would be smart not to discuss that here.

Might be good meet with someone so we can see your car and determine if you're with the SCAQMD or not (since you just joined last week). That being said, I encourage you to pass smog legally.
Search function past parts for sale to get any missing parts. Or look on supporting vendor sites. You can not have open breathers. So you will need the oil fill neck and the passenger side valve cover vent to turbo inlet piping.
You will also need to have a catalytic converter if you don't already.
You'll also need. Working EGR, stock fuel pressure regulator. Good O2 sensor. No SES light , No race ECM chips

Best advice out there, given the rules "they" want us to play by.

You and I both know, that this smog "test" is far more common than most will admit.

As long as humans are in control of the test/check, greed will grease the wheels......even more so in this economy.
 
I would like to see this particular thread get back on course as to helping the OP get his car back on track legitimately per the recommended EPA & PRK smog requirements
than the course that we are taking of how to beat the system. Discussing illegal & / or unethical alternative solutions is just not in the best interests of this forum nor it's members.
Please keep all comments regarding alternative non-approved methods of smog acceptance to PM's, E-mails, phones, carrier pigeon, smoke signals, & so forth.
