My daughters and my wife were going through iPhone cords like they were going out of style. So I bought them the mesh metal cords. Which lasted much longer. However, my phone has a life proof case which requires real iPhone cord.
So I decided to stop spending money on cords and fix the original. And while it's ugly as H-E-Double Hockey Sticks, however, this cord is 3 years old (and has been ugly ever since I got it).
All I did was tape a piece of cardboard on each end where you grab the cord ends to unplug them? And I tapered down the cardboard stock (making the wide part thumbs width up near each end). Then I used duct tape and taped that sucker real good so the ends wouldn't move nor get pulled on. And that's is, got this cord when iPhone six first came out and it still works perfectly.
They all tend to break loose connection at the ends from people yanking on em. And you can't get women to stop yanking on em so you may as well fix it. Oh wait that didn't sound good did it??
