bad fire

The wife and I woke up last night to the sound of what we thought were fireworks. I remember thinking to myself give it up already, it's friken 4am.
So I open the front shades to find my neighbors house across the street engulfed in a raging fire. OMG it was one of the most horrible things I'd ever seen, no fire trucks were on scene yet, just a couple volunteer firefighters waiting for the equiptment to arrive. Suddenly my stomach sickened when I realized she may still be in the house.

Finally three trucks showed up and got it under control, and it turns out her smoke detectors saved her life. She woke to the sound of them and called the FD on her way out.

The fire started in the attached garage and spread into the home, everything is ruined. I feel terrible for her, but reminded her that most importantly she got out ok, everything else can be fixed or replaced.


The garage is gone, and her new Lexus is a metal skeleton, even the aluminum wheels melted. Inside the house isn't much better.

Wow, what a night.

hmmm...interesting. The car is what seemed to be burning the worst when I saw the fire.

That is awful but luckily she is OK. Got to have a smoke detector in the house. I have one in every room and hallway. Wife gets pissed when they go off on the rare occasion when she is actually cooking something. I just tell her be thankful it is working and it is a false alarm.

Yeah this says a lot for working smoke detectors. Don't forget to change the batteries too, my wife just aksed about our batteries.

Glad to here that she is ok! we just had a fire neer me that lost 2 of the guys project cars. 1 that i have heard is an old desoto the other not shure. Then in toledo we lost a gun store to a fire. not a thing left of it.
