I took the GN out today and did a good WOT pass and all was good until i let off and popped off an intercooler hose. Put the hose back on and car ran fine but has a choppier idle. I noticed my BLM's were lower than normal. My BLM were always a little on the high side 138-140 idle and 128 +/- 3 while cruising. That was perfect for my car and it ran fine. After the WOT pass my BML's are now 130 idle and 119 +/- 3 while cruising...... Not my normal #'s. Also idle is kinda choppy like it has a vacuum leak, checked for a leaks and found nothing. Car runs fine as far as i can tell. Bad MAF? Its a stock MAF and has NEVER given me issues. I pulled off the connector and car idled fine. Would BLM's change with a bad MAF? Or am i barking up the wrong tree.

Yes that could be it. Maybe time for a translator and modern maf.

oned plugs, o2 sensor. What is your maf count at idle...also, check for blown off vac lines.

Vacuum lines good to go, newer o2, maf count is 05 at idle. Gotta change plugs when I get back from training.

I know you know your car. So just give it a good once over. Reset the chip. You are welcome to try mine before you
Open your wallet:) just a Sunday drive.

Changed out plugs and #2 was fouled. Would the intercooler hose popping off cause only 1 cylinder to go rich? All other plugs looked perfect.

Nope....could be a bad injector....or leaky valve guide. Runs good now?

Car drives good, idle and BLM's are back to normal. I going to drive around for a bit and re-check that plug. Hopefully its just an injector, I really dont want to pull off that head.

I warmed up the car. Did a few small WOT runs. Pulled the plug and it looks fine. Maybe just dirty fuel?

Just keep a eye on it. You know buicks are way worse than women.

So, its not the MAF, but there is something wrong for sure. I let the car run for a while and the idle is just a tad choppy. If I hold it at 2500 rpm you can hear the miss. I pulled some plugs and this is what I found. The one on the bottom is #4 and the top is #2. All other plugs look like #4. The plugs have maybe 30 minutes of run time and #2 looks like its beginning to foul. I cant tell wether is fuel or oil just yet, but im suspecting it to be fuel since I have the slight miss at 2500 rpm. I guess ill have to start changing out the coil pack and module to see if that the cause of my issues but I doubt it..... This issue all started when i popped an intercooler hose off after going WOT in the highway for about 10 seconds. Before that, the car was perfect. I really hope its the injector causing it since im due for an upgrade anyways, I just dont want to throw parts at it........... Steve, we might have to set something up to get this thing fixed before I move.

Just tossing this out there. All my buicks that I have owned worked on have spit when held at a steady RPM with no load. Since you have the type II set up mess with the coils some 1st.

Ill mess with the coils some tomorrow, the miss is NOT normal on my car and you can hear it for sure. What do you make of that one plug?

Coil, wire, compression test, move that injector to a cylinder That's burning clean.

Did the car backfire when the hose blew off? My car did that once and it was a dead spot in the tps sensor. Maybe your tps is bad.

Well, I let it run for a while yesterday to get it nice and warm. I pulled the #2 plug and I can see oil creeping up the threads of the plug. Valve cover is CLEAN. not a drip of oil. Looks like I'm getting oil in the cylinder causing my issues.

Pull the valve cover and look to see if both valve seals are still seated on the guides.
