I had hooked up a few gauges, a hotwire kit, and now that i got some flow this week, i got some gas, well since i was unable to drill into my frame to hook up the ground strap, i decided to just run the fuel pump straight.
i had taken out a bunch of unused wires from my engine bay..
none of them were connected to anything in there
so i yanked them out..
they led to a couple red wires which were run under the console? and those wires seem to be stuck somewhere, dont know how to get the console out to check it further.. anyhow
reconnect my grounds, pour new gas in and fire it up
the gas gauge needle flies up to F and starts bouncing around
plus it ran ****ty like backfiring .. WTF?
I recently put in a robertshaw thermostat 160* and im sure i pluged the spark plug wires into the coil properly.. this is strange?!
why woudl the gas gauge do that, just coincidence or does the running condition have anything to do with it too?>
