Group my side of the story!!

Guys I have sat here and listen to all your randes and raves About the Bates Car Show and there is a few points I'm going to bring up to set the RECORD straight for all of you. First and foremost no one owns this Car Show not me or any one else. I have put on this Car Show because I still Love the Car and most of the people too. Fell free to put on a Car Show at Deer park, but you will not touch Bates I have a deal there Got it!! It funny how all you guys think doing a Car Show is getting a place and making a few phone calls and you get people and Cars to show up. Guys most of the time I spend over 250 hours putting these shows together. A lot of hard work. As far as making a profit this club as not seen a profit in about 10 years now, yet I keep doing it I have taken money out on my own pocket to paid for the show so you so calls people who think i'am making some form of a profit you are way off base. I did apologize to all concern about the 2009 Plaques and the 2010 winners too which will receive their plaques soon as far as the winners of the 2011 car Show all will receive there plaques in a timely fashion. I would like to take a moments and point out some of the people who have helped me over the years, My Ex wife Richelle, Pat Feraio, Tony Romona, Sharon Riggs, Gail McKinney, Eric Brown, Mike Barnard, and many more, I could not have put on these show without their help Thanks to all!!
Now the last thing I want to touch on are all the so called friends I had or I thought were my friends, Lou C Thanks for all the support you have given me about these car shows, Lou just remember all the customers I turned your way over all these 20 Years Thanks again, Don W. thanks for all the support you have given me over the past couple years. Gee all those Tech Sessions at your place in Santee I guess those don't count. and the last person I would like to mention Lee W. this guy I did not know until about 4 for 5 years ago never done a think wrong to him he has told peoples lie and non truths about me and I'm sick of hearing them .

Please take all the about with a grain of salt I just wanted to explain my side of the story.

Don't count for what? Are you assuming I owe you something for the two tech seminars that were held at my place so long ago? One seminar where only one person showed up? Don't even go there, Steve!
I will support an event if I feel the event is being well run by the people involved. Trying to make me feel that I somehow owe you for something is not the best way to get on my good side. I hope you can turn your attitude around for the sake of the show, if it's not already too late.

I was very supportive of bates until it became obvious things were not as they seemed.
you selling off donated items to reimburse your expenses,
you putting items that were donated to the show ON YOUR CAR,
you using money from the car show to pay for dinner and gambling, and then NOT paying for the plaques you promised to award,
you not even mentioning that Spoolfool paid for one year awards,
Everyone is aware of your underhanded operations of the event,
and most (by the response in this thread) are tired of the BS.

Leave Bates alone??? do you own bates? I think not, I spoke to a person at Bates, they are openly receptive to an event there.

so let the truth speak for its self!

Steve, Long ago I grew tired of defending your shake down antics & supporting your BGNRA, I hosted events in the past to support your club as well as my business. It was mutually beneficial to all concerned. I have busted my ass & worn my body out with my hard work & trying to do it honestly. I have given a lot of myself to my love of these cars & the people. I will not support anyone that doesn't adhere to the same principles. If you can't take a hint & know that everyone is tired of your B.S. then don't take it out on me. Stop making an ass out of yourself & just go away.I would hope if I ever get the point that I would have the wisdom to call it quits.

If you have any constructive criticism to make, please verify that it is not a direct derogatory comment about him before posting. I wanted to give props to Mike B. for paying for the awards one year, I had read someone had, but wasn't aware of who it was. That is a class act ! Though he obviously shouldn't of had to do that.

I have been thinking of what a money maker this should could of been even if you make sure the plaques got out. I think people would of been happy with just a little award to put up in their garage, not like you'd have to drop a ton on something like that.

I would suggest ALL years awards get out in the next month, or in the future I would hope Shane wouldn't allow 'advertising' for this 'show' on here.
I think taking money and not delivering awards as promised is similar to vendors not delivering products that were paid for, and we all know how long they last on here.

Side note: Thought of you Mark when I decided to try D.B.A. yesterday, 7 1/2 percent

glad to see you add your opinions here, thats what it needs to make a good show -input from everyone.

I meant ralph's just for a meeting to plan this ,

I agree , a nice setting where family can wander and look at other things beside cars, or us gear heads can swap bs stories to our hearts content,

and for whats it worth.........it was Bob Gosden who got suckered into paying for the plaques the two previous years before that.

there can be more than one meeting, like one is SD area, one in san fernando area, one in IE, then all meet up to determine the outcome,

I'm just suggesting, an I feel we all are interested.

I for one , would like to see something on the scale of a "Richard Clark" get together!!!!!

This is just a disgrace. Especially if you see how other car clubs are half our age and more organized! Even the Wicked Mustangs have better organization and award trophies at the event..... I think the Turbo Buick Market is too small. Plus you cant have 1 person in charge, it has to be at least 3, preferably someone who is good with money and organization (as in someone who has run a business before). That would be a start.....
