BB cooling lines without heater unit

Just a quick question

What have you guys running BB cooling lines without a heater unit pipe.

I was thinking of putting a steel coupler in between my intake to waterpump hose and putting an in and out section. I can't see this being a problem having both the inlet and outlet on the same hose (intake to waterpump hose) but not 100% if it can be done without issues.

Any input would be great!
