He must have been selling parts off of it to support his drug habit.

Why did it originally go in? Why was it there for a year?

2.5 years ago he worked on it with no problems. Back then we did a 95", Kendall Johnson heads, S&S .585 gear drives, 42mm Mikuni, etc., etc.

This time was for HHI brakes, rotors, rear pulley, new Woods cams, different heads, etc., etc.

I'm sure all my parts, both old and new, were either sold off or installed on other's bikes.

1-year = 3-months of letting him work on it, and 9-months of fighting to get the bike back!!

I'd rebuild it... then find out who his cell mate is, and tell them that there is a nice Harly waiting for them after they get out if they treat that guy real "special" while he's in there:eek:

What a F'n shame:mad:

Glad you got what you did back:(

Good Luck.

Man, That makes me sick. Thieves suck.

Hanging is too good for them.

Burning is too good for them.

They ought to be ripped into itty-bitty pieces and burried alive!

(blatently plagarized)

look at it this way, it don't look much different than any TR you have ever owned for more than 3 months.

at least you got it back & the insurance was kept up on it.

Did this dude go from being honest & honorable to a lying thieving POS overnight?

Or as you've had plenty of time to think about it by now,

were there no red-flags, gut-feelings or warning

signs along the way...not a hint he was a sleaze,

a con-artist, a low-life bull-shafting dirt-bag?

Keith,

Reminds me of what happen to our GN engine at S&S Turbo Regal. Drugs will really mess a man up. Glad you got most of it back, to bad you will never get time lost back.

WTF! Not what happened to your bike but..........You mean to tell me you can work on your car but you can't turn a wrench on you bike? I'm not into V-twins but I can pretty much tear apart and screw together a 4 cylinder Suzuki or Kawasaki in my sleep. I do that pretty much out of necessity. Shops down here just rape you. You know you going to get bent over when you see the owners riding around in $100K trucks and luxury cars. Not to mention when they run ads for 6 figure custom bikes. I'll be damned if I support some jerks lifestyle because I dont have the time to work on my rides.

Man that sucks! Seems like we hear horror stories like this WAY to often, makes ya think do I really want someone else working on my chit!?:frown:

Apparently the theft is the least of this guy's worries. I hear prison isn't too kind to rapists. If he's guilty, I hope so.

Damn that sucks Keith. Glad you were able to get most of it back.
Are the rims& tires missing or where they just off the bike?

Well... Not that we were aware of. After the third month I started pressing him hard to get the bike back. At that point I was getting the "gut-feelings".

Practically the whole time I was fighting to get the bike back I thought I was the only one involved. It wasn't until 1-week prior to getting it back that I knew there were others having the same issues as me.

It was more of not wanting to wrench on it. I do all the maintenance work on it, but when it came to making some HP/TQ with it I was leaving it up to those with proven combinations, and the proper tools to get it done.

The rims and tires were installed on another bike, getting ready to disappear. I had to take them off that bike.

Update!!

This morning I dropped the bike off at Kendall Johnson Customs in Winston-Salem, NC. They're doing an insurance estimate and faxing it in to GMAC for me. I had full coverage on the bike so It may turn out OK for me.

Update again soon...
