I have a factory belt tensioner with a broken ear. Does anyone know if that piece can be welded back onto the tensioner? Thanks

They are aluminum and yes you can. Here's one I did and I also smoothed the weld down. Worked just fine.

There's a group buy on a new billet tensioner in the 4 sale section right now... I think they're $450+

Hmmmm, when I had mine off the bracket did not appear to be aluminum. I woulda bet it was pot metal. My mistake, I apologize.

I can't afford that billet one right now but it does look nice. No tie down strap on the car right now. Would a garage be able to weld that back on or would I have to take it somewhere else? And what kind of weld should be used? Thanks for all the help

Mostnlikely need to be tigged. Find a place that does stainless piping or any aluminum exclusively. Those are the guys to go to.
