best and worst venders?

i want some opions on what venders are liked and disliked. I know gbodyparts recently ticked me off.

G Body has degraded in the past year or so. The last 2 orders were not as described, and of poor condition/quality. If an item is available elsewhere, they won't get anymore of my business. This is my first non positive post of any vendor, and I've been into TR's since 1985.:frown:
 
No. The Buick community is too small for me to name names. All the vendors are watching this thread.

BUT...I'll tell you who I've had great service from:
*Hartline Performance - SUPERIOR SUPPORT! My XFI was shipped out to me without paying them first! That's what I call TRUST between two people! My personal check and their product "crossed paths".
*Full Throttle Speed - ALWAYS got superior service from them even when Modern Muscle was around! Fast shipping! I've probably bought more from them than any other vendors COMBINED!
*Caspers Electronics - Nice electronics, easy to install. I did have one item that caused a problem...easily fixed by me and I didn't have to call them about it....simple human error.
*TA Performance - Hard to find custom made parts. They will have what you are looking for when it comes to mechanical engines! Fast shipping!
*Turbo Regal Custom Parts - Quality dress up items and easy to order web site. They ask you everything first directly on the web site so if you get your order and it's wrong...it's probably because you didn't check the right box.
*CKPerformance - I get what I order...fast... every time and I like the way it works!
*Kirban Performance Products - Not so performance oriented but does sell a lot of "needed" items for the TR community. Fast shipping!
*HRPartsNStuff - Ordered once and got what I ordered. Worked as advertised but made the ride harsh...:p
*Precision Turbo - A MAJOR company that caters to the TR community with updated turbo's all the time! THANKS for your support!

I just wanted to add that if you don't see a vendor on my above list, it means I haven't bought anything from them OR I've had a bad experience with them.
 
Over my approximately 13 or 14 years involved with the turbo Buicks that I have owned (5) I have probably ordered and received parts from most of the sponsoring / supporting vendors on this site, and some that aren't on this site. I have always been treated with respect and courtesy when I ordered, whether by tele, Pm, or E-mail, and I have always received my expected parts in good shape and in a timely fashion. I wish to take this opportunity to thank all of the vendors on this site, especially those with whom I have had business transactions with, for your timeliness, courtesy, expert advice, and more than fair billing & invoicing practices. Although some names come to mind more than others, you're all heroes in my book and God Bless all in these tough times. The TurboBuick.Com - The World Wide Web under BOOST! - Buick Grand National, GNX, T-Type supporting supplier / vendor base is what makes this really "Going Fast With Class".
 
This is a great thread. Might be a little winded but very accurate;)

Dan at DLS- This guy has been so instrumental to me over the years with my builds. Pricing is incredible, knowledge is one aspect of his service that comes at no cost, but the info is priceless. I have dealt with Dan since the days he was with Precision. I explain to him what i want and he gives me the tools to do it. From my Dad and myself Dan is a guy that we will follow as long as he is breathng. A true asset to the Buick community and a stand up guy that I know will always have my best interest at heart, not the ol mighty dollar.

Cal and Holly Hartline- Where to start with this crew.............Lets start and say I am truely glad our paths crossed. I have formed a great friendship first and foremost. Customer service is above and beyond the call of duty. They have helped me countless times and I am truely greatful for it. What more can I say about these two........
If you have not used them before, you are truely mssing out. Thanks Cal and Holly for everything.

Racetronix- Aside from any other vendor here, Jack is someone I have known for over 20 years now. He would give the shirt off his back to help me out when ever I need it. I have damn near every Racetronix harness in my car. Workmanship is incredible and second to none. I have brought my car to his place at the weee hours of the morning with a problem and he spends countless hours helping me out. Aside from his products, Jack as a person is a true buddy of mine that I hang out with and would back him up if ever he needed it.


My signature is not something I take lightly. If you have made it there, you have seriously impacted me and left a long lasting impression.
I think as a whole, I have never had a bad transaction with any vendor. I have dealt with many outside of the 3 I just mentioned like

-G-Bodyparts
-Dusty Bradford
-Andersons
-RJC
-Mark at TR custom Parts

I have delt with many of the supporters of this board & never had an issue. All the vendors I've delt with have excellent service.

Any vendor problems will always be aired on this board. I am aware of a vendor having an ocassional supplier issue, bt they have all bent over backward to correct any slighest issu. All the vendors I have had phone conversations with have been more than patient with my many questions & requests.
 
It goes without saying, when dealing with people for whatever purpose, displaying patience, courtesy, understanding and respect, it all comes back to you. The Tubobuick community is one I am grateful to be a part of.
 
Hartline Performance-specifically Holly. Two years ago in BG, my dad went to their tent to buy an XFI, Holly talked him out of it saying his car didn't an XFI. I think that's a class act, she could have told us that we needed a $2K computer but she explained that the XFI wasn't needed for our use. Needless to say, that was a very stand up experience.

Full Throttle-fast shipping, never had any problems with them

G-Body-waited about 3 months for parts. I would call and my answer would be that the parts already shipped out. Worst $1K parts buying experience. I would go to them as a last resort.
 
I think I've bought from just about everyone over the years, and I've annoyed just about everyone with too many questions. All of them have been outstanding, with one exception but they went out of business.

In particular TR Custom Parts (TR Custom Parts 84-87 Turbo Regals, Olds G-Body Cars, S-10 Blazers/Pickups) has always been an awesome vendor to work with. Mark's a great guy and makes damned fine products. I wouldn't hesitate to order anything from him. Can't recommend him highly enough.

The other one is Full Throttle. Mike, Marianne, and Bob have all been great to me. Good people that are driving innovation for our niche cars. Can't ask for more than that!
 
I do worry about HR PartsNStuff. They seem to have neglected to engineer in a fatigue failure point to any of the parts that I have purchased. Most manufacturers couldn’t survive with that business model.

poston buick i heard they were great one time. not anymore no customer service at all. they dont reply to messages or emails.

Postons: Got an interior that was not stock matching color
Keith Mease: This guy took forever to send me my product

Those were my worst list.... and they have all went out of business.... :D

Most of the supporting vendors are excellent to deal with
 
I think less arogance and more bedside maner is needed.

KIRBAN - super nice people, actually care.
COTTON - great deals, willing to talk and help you, good guy
TURBO TWEAK - great product, great support, good communication.
ALKY CONTROL - great product, great support, good communication.
GBODY - they can mess up your order, but they can also do a great job and be a good help... its hit or miss honestly.

FULL THROTTLE - I spent most of my money here and regret it. Sorry Mike, but you can be a real D!ck and you always sound annoyed when helping someone. The parts are good, the shipping is fast, I just don't like Mike's customer service on the phone.
Mostly everybody else loves him. Deal with him internet only and you'll be happy.

(it felt good to let that out, I can now that I'm getting rid of my car! LOL)

I returned a dead commander chip 3 weeks ago and have not heard peep from these people, SUMMIT RACING CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD BE THE GOLD STANDARD OTHERS TRY TO ACHIVE, but a mom and pop outfit gets pissed to easliy when things go wrong, THEY AVOID LOSING MONEY LIKE THE PLAUGE AND DO NOT FACE THE MUSIC< THEY TUCK YOUR PROPLEM AWAY AND HOPE WITH HELP OF TIME YOU WILL GO AWAY, ANY ACTION ON RESOLVING AN ISSUE IS GOING TO COST THEM MONEY< THATS A NO NO, SO F THE PEOPLE WITH PROBLEMS AND KEEP TAKING IN NEW MONEY FROM NEW ORDERS AND PROMISE PEOPLE THE WORLD TO RING THAT SALE, THATS THE I LIKE A HA A HA!!!!!!!!!KC & SUNSHINE BAND<

who sells commander chips?

Only one place I know off where a commander chip is available , it I am wrong please tell me who else sells them?

I returned a dead commander chip 3 weeks ago and have not heard peep from these people,
I assume you sent it to us, typical time for repairs and upgrades is about a week so if you live somewhere where shipping takes 5 days add that X2 and 3 weeks is about right. Since I don't know who you are or where you live so let me ask a few questions. Did you ever call us and see if we actully received it or to get a status? Did you put a detailed note in the box with what you wanted done and your contact info? We ALWAYS have 4 or 5 things here that people send to us with no indication of why it was sent or who they are. I have items that have been her for over a year and we have never been contacted and have no way to contact the sender. Those items sit in a box until someone calls us. If something gets sent in for repair we will never call you unless we have questions we fix it and return it, repairs are usually free on our products even after a number of years. We certainly want to resolve any problems customers have quickly and easily. In this case please call Marianne 586 294 4404 or drop her an email at marianne@fullthrottlespeed.com so this can be resolved
