For you I'd probably do a 10" l/u. It's in the price range your looking for and it will retain lock-up. The non lock is the nicest piece but it's more pricey and more for guys who prefer track over street.

This 10" is standard cover

Ok i see theer are two on the PTC website that i think u may be refering too. 10" Street Torque Converter and 10" Race Torque Converter, what r the differences between the two? or am i lookin at the wrong ones? sorry for all the questions:)

Just talk to Dusty. I told him the same thing about how I couldn't really tell what to look at on the PTC site and he said it's easier to just tell him what you're looking for.

As far as lock-up, I don't miss it. Just depends on the type of driving you do. If you do a lot of highway cruising then I would suggest keeping it. If you do stop-and-go city driving or just cruise once or twice a week, might as well spare the few extra lbs of weight and not have a lock-up clutch in the convertor. I don't have any gas mileage figures, but I don't drive a GN for gas mileage.

Will the lock up hold up at the track?

mike

These can not be locked at the track due to the single disk design. I try to get the stall close enough to your set-up so you don't need lock up to get good #'s out of it. If I feel I can't get close enough I'll tell you so you can look elsewhere for something that fits your needs. With the lock-ups I am limited to 500 rpm between set-ups so it can be difficult to match to the combo.

Billet front cover is needed when dealing with high hp like turbo mustangs and Ls1's. If a Buick makes that much power your much better off with the non lock.....700+ would be a good idea of when to look at the billet cover option.

As you can tell, the PTC website is not that great. It will be a 10" and would be similiar to their street or super street line.
